Another map that suffered the same fate as Sewer, Sweeney and Chuckles, Cigam is a Dukematch-only map that never reached the final release of Duke3D. The sad part is, Cigam really isn't that great of a Dukematch map, and sadly I can clearly see why Cigam was cut from the game.
While the map boasts some neat sector-over-sector tricks, the design is lacking in many areas. Worst of it all is the texture choices; they're pretty poor in many spots of the level. The map goes as far as a crate texture on many of the walls. Trimming is good, though, as is shading, telling me that if this actually shipped with the game, this is exactly how it was going to be. Even the new sector-over-sector tricks featured in the map aren't really that amazing. As for the gameplay, while I haven't played this in Dukematch it looks like it could be fun. The sector-over-sector stuff, unfortunately, doesn't look like it'd play a very large role in the gameplay, so altogether there's nothing special about it. Just a small little Dukematch session for a few players. Cigam is a bit disappointing in design aspects but, while the gameplay isn't revolutionary, it could be fun a for a couple games.
